When Will We Be Back??

Hello everyone. Over the last few weeks there has been an increase in traffic on my website and all social media pages, as well as, a number of email enquires about Summer/Fall programming. I wanted to take a moment and give everyone a quick update on our status, at this time.

Currently, the City of Kingston has not made private ice rentals available. I am sure that the larger user groups like GK, KAMHA, Ice Wolves and Skate Kingston have been given an idea of when rentals will open up, but at this point, there is no information on the City’s Covid-19 webpage and no ice availability listed on the Facility Bookings page either.

As you can imagine, planning a camp isn’t an overnight thing. I need to rent ice, announce the Camp, get registrations sorted and give everyone time to get in. All of this would take at least 30 days to firm up, so I don’t see being able to run any form of Camp before September 1, at the earliest!

Please keep in mind, that my programs have always been offered to a limited number of skaters (12 or less), so following social distancing protocols in dressing rooms and in the lobby will be far less of a struggle but running programs with just Helmets, gloves and warm-up suit, having only one parent accompany skaters to the rink, everyone bringing a folding lawn chair for tying skates at board side and then sitting on in the lobby, or tying skates on the players benches are all ideas that I have contemplated and I’m prepared to implement, depending on the status of KFL&A Requirements at the time of the camp.

I would like to thank everyone for their interest in my program and assure you that I am doing everything I can to get us back on the ice as soon as possible in these trying time. I hope you are all staying safe and keeping your distance and that we all get to see each other again, very soon.

To get information on our programs and stay on top of any information I may publish, please remember to follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, RSS feed or join our page on the Wix App. Links to all social media pages can be found at the bottom of our home page.
