About me

I began coaching figure skating professionally in 1986, shortly after retiring from competitive skating. In the 26 years I spent coaching figure skating, I coached at 6 National Championships and helped skaters earn Bronze medals in back to back years, at two separate levels. I went to clinics, seminars, and workshops to hone my coaching skills along the way and currently hold a Provincial Level certification and an NCCP Level 3 Coaching Theory and Technical certificates as well.

In 1993, I was approached by Hockey Manitoba and started teaching Power Skating at HM's yearly Pee Wee Select Skills Camps. I also Assistant Coached AA and AAA at the Minor Pee Wee and Pee Wee level. This lead to work with individual teams and Power Skating programs with the local hockey organizations.

Shortly after moving to Kingston (2001), I started working with Church Athletics Kingston, running their Power Skating and Learn-to-Skate sessions. In 2009, I started to work with Kingston Area Minor Hockey Assoc. doing the same programs. I am a fully registered National Coaches Certification Program coach with the Coaches Association of Canada and hold complete Level 2 certifications in both Hockey and Figure Skating. My transcript is available on the CAC website at www.coach.ca my NCCP number is 186494.
